Spring is here! Bring on the festivals!
First up is the Daffodil Festival in Fremont, North Carolina. In the 1950s the little town of Fremont was dubbed “The Daffodil Town” by a local newspaper due to its daffodil gardens. Now this town holds annual festivals in honor of the flower widely grown here.
This is why old towns are awesome: retro advertising on brick walls!
This was some of the best homemade root beer I’ve ever had (then again I’ve never had homemade rootbeer before)! And it comes in a collectable tin can.
I found several interesting characters at this festival. I found a clown trying to find his way.
I also found a chicken woman advertising. I hope it’s not for chicken legs/wings.
Speaking of food, here are some of the foods I found. Below are fried peanuts.
These are applejacks being made freshly at the festival.
And don’t forget the meat!
There was plenty to do here. Racing cars is one of them,
The Embers played some awesome tunes during the noon hour.
This was a fun festival to start of the festival season. There are plenty more to come in the North Carolina region.
