Over the weekend North Carolina was hit by tornados, 62 in various counties. The tornados touched down in the late afternoon destroying everything in its path. These photos are from Fayetteville, NC just a couple of blocks near my place.
Reilly Rd. was hit hard damaging businesses and even an elementary school. These cones were set up as a walk way for locals and personnel to get to their place.
It’s hard to believe with the blue sky that a large storm just came through this area.
Thanks to the Fayetteville police, fire department, and emergency services for putting in long hours directing traffic, helping residents with their homes, and for getting the power back on. Also thanks to the local churches, organizations, and local residents for volunteering their time to help out. You can clearly see the community working together through this horrible tragedy.
Tomorrow a relief event will be held at Lowe’s Home Improvement on Skibo form 6am to 7pm where collections can be donated and will be distributed to Cumberland County and the surrounding counties. More information here.
Prayers out to the families affected by the storm.
